Amanda practices in the areas of health care, commercial, tribal, and Federal Indian law. As a consultant and attorney, Amanda has significant experience advising and representing practitioners, managed care organizations, critical access hospitals, acute care facilities, device manufacturers, and ambulatory surgery centers in regulatory and transactional matters including licensing, contracting, joint ventures, Anti-kickback, Stark Law, Medicare, Medicaid and HIPAA. Amanda is also active in tribal law and is committed to pro bono work and promoting economic development in Indian country.
Amanda is a graduate of Midwestern State University, magna cum laude, and the University of Kansas School of Law. At KU Law, Amanda earned a Tribal Lawyer certificate, participated in the National Native American Law Students Moot Court Competition, served as the Vice President of the Native American Law Student Association, and served on the Dean’s Student Advisory Committee. While attending law school, Amanda clerked for a boutique health care firm, where she gained valuable experience in a range of health law and business-related matters. Additionally, she participated in the University of Kansas Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic and Tribal Law and Governance Clinic, and she interned with the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas and the Kansas State Gaming Agency. Before attending law school, Amanda worked as a teacher.
Amanda is licensed to practice in New Mexico, Nebraska, and Missouri. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Federal Bar Association Indian Law Section, and the American Bar Association.
